At a glance
Topcraft was a studio established by former Toei Animation staff. It's founder was animator Toru Hara. It is most famous for producing Hayao Miyazaki's film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In 1985 the studio filed for bankruptcy and it's staff were divided. Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki and Isao Takahata acquired the studio itself and established Studio Ghibli, while other staff left to form a new company called Pacific Animation Corporation.
