Synopsis
Dark post-apocalyptic manga reimagining Wizard of Oz with fractured America, nuclear wastelands, and mysterious city OZ.
Loosely inspired by L.F. Baum's classic novel, The Wizard of Oz, this original manga by Itsuki Natsumi presents a dark reimagining of the familiar tale. In a post-apocalyptic future where nuclear war has devastated humanity and fractured the United States into six warring territories, legends speak of a mysterious city called OZ - a place where civilization still thrives and technology remains intact. When a determined scientist named Felicia embarks on a perilous journey to find this fabled sanctuary, she is joined by the battle-hardened mercenary Muto and the enigmatic android 1019. Together, they traverse the desolate wastelands in search of hope amid the ruins of the old world. Meanwhile, another quest unfolds as a young woman hires a skilled mercenary to guide her through the dangerous territories to reach the mythical Oz, where she believes her missing brother has found refuge. Accompanied by an advanced cyborg with connections to her lost sibling, she discovers that the paradise she's seeking may hold darker secrets than anyone could imagine. This dystopian fantasy explores themes of survival, the price of paradise, and the human cost of war in a world where nothing is as it seems.
