Synopsis
Two Hiroshima children's innocent friendship before the atomic bombing, symbolized by red gloves.
Based on a book by Nishino Ayako. A poignant story set in Hiroshima during the final days of World War II, following the innocent friendship between elementary schooler Nat-chan, who has recently moved to the city, and her friend Shun-chan. As Nat-chan lovingly knits a pair of red gloves, their daily lives unfold against the backdrop of a community unaware of the historic events about to unfold. The narrative explores themes of childhood innocence, friendship, and the lasting impact of war through a deeply personal lens.
Based on a book by Nishino Ayako. A story about the atomic bomb dropping on Hiroshima. Elementary schooler Nat-chan moved to Hiroshima and was knitting red gloves her male friend Shun-chan. The bomb hits and she dies. Shun-chan now an adult reunites with Nat-chan's remains via her shadow (nuclear shadow that is, where her body vaporized leaving an outline).
