Sennen Makyou explodes out of the gate with gripping night-time battles, a confident, no-longer-whiny Rikuo, and flashbacks that turn the grandfather’s history into the series’ most exciting hook. While Yuki-Onna still lingers on the sidelines and the first season’s weaknesses hover in memory, every other element—story momentum, character growth, eerie art, and an all-star voice cast—delivers a towering upgrade. A must-watch shounen leap that makes the original feel like a distant, dull prologue.
