The only redeeming quality is Miyako's character remaining consistent across both versions. This adaptation is a complete disaster that butchers its excellent source material, transforming a nuanced slice-of-life about friendship into a generic harem where every female character becomes a homogenized love interest. The excessive fanservice and censorship, combined with the fundamental misrepresentation of character personalities - particularly turning Yamato from a nihilistic tactician into a kind-hearted protagonist - makes this one of the worst visual novel adaptations imaginable.
