Synopsis
Humanity's remnants aboard Sidonia battle Gauna while pilot Tanikaze navigates survival, settlement debates, and ethical dilemmas.
In the far reaches of space, the massive seed ship Sidonia continues its generations-long journey carrying the remnants of humanity. Under the command of Captain Kobayashi, the vessel has survived countless encounters with the mysterious alien lifeforms known as Gauna. As tensions rise between those who wish to continue their voyage and those seeking to establish permanent settlements, new technological developments promise to shift the balance in humanity's favor. Among the ship's population is Nagate Tanikaze, a young pilot whose unique background and exceptional skills have made him a key figure in Sidonia's defense forces. As the crew prepares for what may be their greatest challenge yet, Tanikaze finds himself at the center of both military operations and complex social dynamics aboard the ship. With humanity's future hanging in the balance, the inhabitants of Sidonia must navigate not only external threats but also the moral and ethical questions that arise when survival is at stake.
